check it out yo' - check it - check it out yo' (to be said outloud with rhythm)

so...i just wanted to point out that the baby countdown to the right is down to SINGLE DIGITS. that's all i wanted to say. and no, she's not here yet.

on another note, i am saddened by stephenie meyer's decision to postpone the publishing of "midnight sun" indefinitely. and her even more bizarre decision to post the leaked unfinished draft on her website - which i am almost done reading because really, how can you resist that? still very sad, though.

i felt like i needed to include a picture because this post was boring so here's a picture of me and paul on a camping trip right after we were married 3 long years ago...hence the blonde hair. ah young paul and young mel, there's so much i want to warn you about but sadly, i cannot.

almost there...

just for fun, here's my 14 week picture:and then BAM! here's me at 37 1/2 weeks: (the half week is very important at this point).

i know what you're thinking: "can she BE any more pregnant?" trust me, i am SOO ready to be done with this pregnancy business. i saw my doctor yesterday and she said the baby has "dropped" and that i could go into labor any day now - sounds good to me. i've washed all her clothes, her nursery is pretty much done (i just need to hang stuff on the walls), and i sleep 3 hours a night because no sleeping position is comfortable. also, lately everything looks dirty in our apartment and i keep readjusting, cleaning, and organizing things that don't need it. i think i peek in her dresser at leat once a day to make sure everything is folded neatly.

i really am so freaking excited for her to be here and i keep trying to picture what her little face will look like. guess there's nothing left to do but wait...

no more work!

yee haw! i'm so excited. my last day was yesterday, friday the 8th, and i felt euphoric as i left the office where i had worked the last 2 years for the last time. it's been great mickelson financial but i'm ready for mommyhood. for the next few weeks i'm planning to sleep, fix up the nursery, sleep, buy more baby crap that we need (there is so much!) and sleep some more. hopefully i'll be rested and super prepared by the time she comes.

today i had my first baby shower. it was pretty bizarre to be opening up all these baby prezzies and thinking they're for my baby girl that i'm having in 4 weeks. it doesn't seem real yet that i'm having a baby but at least she'll have a very hefty wardrobe when she arrives. :)

breaking dawn is kind of...weird? (don't worry - no spoilers here.)

so i dragged paul to borders last night at midnight to get our reserved copy of breaking dawn for only $14. after witnessing the utter madness at the bookstore for about 45 seconds, we escaped to walmart (who sold the book for only $13 mind you) and were in and out in 10 minutes.

as soon as we get home i plop on the couch and begin reading as fast as i can. the first few chapters were good, great, the same stuff as before and then it got...weird. i've been reading reviews online and i know i'm not alone in this view. i totally respect stephenie meyer and her crazy success but i'm thinkin' she went a little off her rocker on this last book of the twilight saga. it was like the pressure was too great and she just panicked and wrote the first thing that came into her head. anyone else feel this way? if you loved it, then just ignore me because i'm just one dorky person...but sadly, i was hoping for a stronger last book. BUT, still totally psyched for the twilight movie. and if that sucks, well then that's 3 strikes this year stephenie meyer: 1) the host, 2) breaking dawn, and 3) the twilight movie. let's cross our fingers and hope the movie rocks our brains.
