this weekend...

...lana and kris and max came to visit. (doesn't this feel like deja vu? this is probably like my 4th blog post about "this weekend...we hung out with lana and kris.") we had fun at the garderner's market (i only made $25, which was okay but not the best...), going out to eat, and renting "taken", which was actually pretty good. the ending was lame but up until that point it was pretty entertaining. here's some pics from this weekend.

lana took our picture just before church with our little strawberry. :)

new highchair!

me and max!

i love how this picture is so candid, like, not even posed at all.

st. george and flight of the conchords

we had a fun memorial day weekend. paul and i had bought tickets to see flight of the conchords in vegas a while ago (i'm pretty sure i have a crush on jemaine). in order to steal a night away from penny we met up with paul's parents (and aunt kenna) at their vacation condo in st. george for the weekend, and they watched penny saturday night so we could drive 2 hours to vegas to see the show.

waiting for the show to start.

jemaine and bret! (we weren't super close so the pictures aren't great but you get the idea).

binary solo: 0010010011000011100...

it seems like a lot of preparation and travel time for a show but they were soooooo funny. they played all the best ones like business time, jenny, the humans are dead and albi the racist dragon. i haven't laughed that hard in a while. but ugh, this big drunk guy next to me was so huge that i was all squinched up in my chair and he kept laughing WAY too loud in my ear and he smelled all beer-ish so that was the only bad part but other than that, SO MUCH FUN!

here's penny and aunt kenna (and penny's future female cousin). penny loved to snuggle up to kenna's belly bump, it was so cute. maybe because it's like a little furnace.

SWIMMING! cripes, i hadn't been in a pool since before penny was born! crazy. the condo had a sweet pool and it was penny's first time in one. she loved it! the water was pretty warm and she totally cooed and babbled and had a great time.

this was right after we put on her sunscreen. she didn't like it very much.

and the next american idol is...

not adam.

WAH! i was so sad last night when they said the results (after over 2 hours of making us wait). well, actually i cheated and found out an hour early through an east coast live blog. it updated every 5 mintues and halfway through the show utah time the blog author wrote: "10:02: Best quote ever from an American Idol winner: 'Adam deserves this. I'm sorry.' " geez, if kris allen feels so guilty, why is he the winner? oh wait, i know why, because all of danny gokey's fans were also anti-adam fans and put their votes in for kris. BOO! i mean, COME ON, kris and keith urban (blah) vs. adam and kiss (entertaining, no?).

i was totally in a cranky mood the rest of the night and even got into a stupid fight over nothing with paul. isn't that rediculous? i hadn't realized i was so emotionally invested in the show. it really does make me sad because i think adam would have been PERFECT as the next american idol...i mean, how many kris allen artists are already out there? too many. and how many artists like adam lambert are out there? none. and yes, i know adam will still have a good career blah blah blah he still deserved to win, just like kris said seconds after ryan seacrest shoved a microphone in his face to get his reaction. all i can say is that when adam does a solo tour i am SO there.

oh well, time to move on to the next reality show. and this one i love: SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE! if you haven't seen it people, then, well you just haven't lived. and this one's more fun to watch because i don't really care who wins. the winners never do anything really successful, they're all just amazing to watch. and, um, reading books is good, too.

8 months!

"this picture taking buisness bores me."

she was such a little stinker today while i tried to take her 8-month pictures. i hardly got any decent shots. at first i tried to take some pictures outdoors but the idea failed miserably. she kept sneezing (probably allergies inherited from dad) and was more interested in the plants than in smiling for mom. but i do love these close-up shots in the sun.

8-month stats:

* loves to eat fruits and veggies, especially bananas.
* loves meeting new people. anytime i'm in line at the grocery store or wherever, she's just smiling away and doing her happy-head-dance at the people behind me.
* awesome nap-taker.
* is sooo excited to see you in the morning. she wriggles and thumps her feet on the crib mattress like thumper and jabbers non-stop.
* no teeth yet (which, as a nursing mom, i am grateful for).
* no longer has blow-outs (knock on wood).
* laughs when you laugh.

it's that special time again...

GARDENER'S MARKET TIME!

yes, me and my dorky booth o'cards are at it again this summer. today was the first saturday that i got to sell my little cards at the local gardener's market. and guess what, brosephs: i made 75 bucks! we thought no one was gonna be there because it was the first saturday of the may to october season but it turns out the local logan-ites love their fresh produce.

me and my booth.

the spread.

we brought lil' penny along and it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. the market opens at 9:00am, but we got there at 7:30am (i know, i got up early voluntarily on a saturday - blech) so we could get a good spot. the market ends at 1:00pm and she didn't cry once. i think she was really happy to be outside and had fun looking at everything.

playing in her porta-crib.

paul was really excited to be there.

i'm excited to see how much money i can make this season. last summer i started in june and ended in august, a few weeks before penny was due so i didn't really get to do the whole season. it's fun to make a little side money but it's also just as fun to make something and have people buy the thing you made. (those scrapbooking supplies aren't all for naught, paul!)

don't you wish you were this happy?

she's been giggling aLOT lately and i love it! it totally gets me in a good mood.

we made a short visit to lana and kris's last weekend. i just thought this pic was cute of uncle kris and penny. i love that little smile she has on her face with her kitty.

ummm...can i have my kitty back, max?
