Utah Museum of Natural History

And here's another outing we did while Paul's brother's family was in town...the Utah Museum of Natural History! I love museums. Apparently we have a lot of dinosaur bones in Utah so all the skeletons in the museum are from Utah. Pretty neat. Thank goodness for my trusty iPhone that captures these outings when I forget my real camera.

snowbird

Paul's brother and his family came up to Utah a couple weeks ago, and one of the things we did was head up to Snowbird and ride the tram to the top of the mountain. The ride up was so pretty I forgot to take pictures!
(It was also a little scary and I may or may not have concentrated on breathing the whole time...)

violet's blessing + 3 months old!

Thanks for coming everyone! 
The best family pic we got...just keepin' it real.

And here's some blessing dress/3 month photos...I love them! Everything is the same from when Penny was blessed. I bought the dress and the headband before Penny was born, Paul's mom made the little bracelet, and my mom crocheted the blessing blanket she's laying on. I love having things from both grandmas!

Some things I'd like to remember about 3 month Violet...

- Most nights she sleeps 10pm to 5am, and then after a nursing, 5:30-8:30am. So nice.
- Filling out her 3-6 month clothing pretty well, but can still squeeze into her 0-3 month clothes. 
- Cooing and babbling all the time, and smiling like crazy.
- Laughed a few times, but I really have to work hard at getting it out of her.
- Has discovered her hands and is constantly sticking them in her mouth.
- Also constantly drooling, but in the cutest way of course.

Happy blessing day and 3 months to my sweet Violet!

2 months!

 

Some things I want to remember about 2 month Violet...

- At her 2 month well check a few days ago she was 23" long (75th percentile) and 12 lbs 4 oz (90th percentile!). I  had no idea! Miss Penny was always 15th or 20th in weight, where did this chunky baby come from??
- Obviously, still a good little nurser. Although once in a while she does this super fun projectile vomiting thing...
- Favorite place to nap is her carseat. I swear that thing has magical powers. No matter how fussy she is, if I place her in there (with a soft blanket underneath her to prevent a flat spot on her noggin) she always falls asleep.
- Speaking of sleeping, about a week ago she started sleeping 6 or 7 hours a night! IT. IS. FABULOUS. We'll put her down around 10pm and she'll usually sleep until 5 or 6am. I feel like a whole new woman haha.
- Such a happy baby! She smiles all the time now and when I start talking to her, she makes these little cooing sounds back at me. This is my FAVORITE. It's so fun when they start interacting with you.

Penny is so great with her baby sister. She likes to bring her toys, and whenever I turn around she's there holding Violet's hand. Especially if Violet's fussing, Penny will come over and hold her hand and say "Shhh, it's okay baby sister." Is it so sweet. And she's really great about playing quietly when I ask her to do so because Violet's sleeping, which is so nice. I can't wait until Violet's old enough and they can play together. But I am loving my baby Violet so of course I don't want the time to go too fast. :)
