we've been stuck inside the past couple of days with a cold and were feeling cabin feverish, so we went for a sunday drive in cottonwood canyon. one of the things i love about utah is how close the mountains are and you can be driving up a winding road less than 10 minutes from your home.

it was such a pretty day!
last friday the three of us went to the utah state fair for a couple hours. we got some hawaiian shredded pork for dinner and walked around. i love fairs and carnivals, i always think they're so entertaining!

they were sooo good! i've loved jenny lewis since high school and i jump at the chance to buy tickets whenever she comes to salt lake. we were able to get pretty close, i loved it!

paul was at a ballgame with his dad and we were bored waiting for him to come home. or, i guess, I was bored and penny was happily playing with her toys. love you, little bug! (even when you're squirming to get off my lap...)
(now that's what bumper bads are really for.)
usually i find her in the morning curled up on her side with her blankie, but it's been kinda hot lately... this totally reminds me of how she slept as a newborn, with her hands up in the air.
